10 Questions Worth Discussing

by Robb

One of the things I love about a free society like ours is that we have the ability to share our opinions and converse with one another in an open forum such as Facebook and this blog. Often, better ideas and plans are created when people ask and take the time to answer a few really simple questions:

  1. Why do some guys ride their bikes with their helmets strapped to their handlebars and not their heads?
  2. If the US provides health care to everyone, should everyone be required to quit smoking and take better care of him or herself?
  3. Why did Merck pay over two billion dollars in fines for the Vioxx debacle but not a single person was indicted?
  4. Why do some people still not use cordless headsets while driving?
  5. Would anyone use AT&T wireless if AT&T didn’t have an exclusive arrangement with Apple for the iPhone?
  6. Do you really believe chocolate-coated nutrition bar are nutritious?
  7. Is Starbucks partially to blame for the growing obesity problem in the US?
  8. Why don’t more people stop and help a stray dog or cat? (Just yesterday I returned a beautiful German Shepherd to his home when many people saw him before I did.)
  9. Why do people show up to run a marathon without a nutritional plan?
  10. Sport Jelly Beans? Seriously?

Help me out here. You don’t have to answer each of these questions but surely, like me, you have an opinion or two that’s worth sharing. Click on the “Comments” link below to get started (and for those of you who are shy or do not want to use your real name, feel free to make one up… the point here is to simply get people talking about some important issues).

Enjoy!

Robb, love your blog and your bars! Funny post! “Sport jelly beans” and chocolate coated “nutrition bars” are ironic, aren’t they? Lets enjoy our chocolate and jelly beans and leave them out of our racing and training!
Thank you for making healthy bars and staying the course with PureFit and who you guys are. PureFit rocks!

You are so right – how do you run 26.2 miles without good nutrition? Well, I guess you run and pay the price after the race. PureFit bars are delicious and I use them the day before a long run as a snack – a great carb source for me in addition to my pre-run carb up meal.

I would still use Vioxx if it was available….Starbucks helps me keep my weight down but only because I use their Vivanos as meal replacements when my teeth hurt too bad from my braces to eat my PureFit bars plus if I didn’t occasionally get a non-fat latte I would miss out on my calcium :)
Even IF the US doesn’t provide health care, people should be required to quit smoking for two reasons, ultimately the taxpayers are paying for it already in some way shape or form AND it is such a nasty habit! I have to clean smokers teeth….disgusting! If it does that to your teeth why can’t you realize how bad it is for your body!
