PureFit Debuts with Costco in Texas
PureFit is humbled by the fact that so many grocery stores, gyms, and specialty retailers choose to carry and recommend our bars (over 2,500 at last count). Recently, larger chains have started to take notice, including Costco.

Welcome to the PureFit Blog! I'm Robb Dorf, founder and CEO of PureFit, Inc., an Irvine, California-based company I started in the summer of 2000 dedicated to making the highest quality, all-natural, gluten-free, 40/30/30 nutrition bars on the planet.

Hi Robb. I used to talk to you but haven’t in along time. I still have a bar each and everyday for lunch and it carries me thru the whole day. I love the taste and texture. Whole Foods here in Henderson order the boxes for me. Take care and happy running. Lorelle
Bring the bars to Costco in California!!!!!!
We want the bars at Costco in california. They don’t melt!!!! Joanie
I second, Bring the Bars to California Costco’s! Based on this past weekend’s Rock N’ Roll Marathon in San Diego; there are tons of runners, walkers, and wheel chair athletes here! Not to mention all the great hiking, rowing, and water sports enthusiast who look for the healthiest bars to fuel their exploits.
This is fantastic! I am celiac and this is just in time for our summer heat!
My Costco is within bicycle distance to me! Austin, TX
What about Florida and Washington state?
Can’t wait for the day when your bars start selling at Costcos in Wisconsin!!!
Hi Robb, yeah we missed you at the San Diego Rock’n'Roll Marathon Expo this year. I bought quite a few PureFit boxes from you at the expo last year. PLEASE distribute the bars through Costco San Diego…lots of runners here – and we love PureFit!
please don’t forget Montana.
Hey Robb. You got me hooked on your bars when we met at one of the Marathon Expos I was participating in. Great product. My wife is Celiac and she’s a Pure-Fit muncher as well. You have a huge fan-base here in Los Angeles. I suspect you’re already working on getting Costco here on board. All the best!
And Minnesota! I love the bars and would join Cosco to get them.
I’d love to have them at Costco in Tucson ! The not melting feature is a biggie here !
I have them at my Costco and its a great deal. Unfortunately the box is mainly peanut butter and chocolate. Just 3 of the bars are almond (my favorite) and there are no strawberry, my second favorite. Maybe they can offer a second offerring that just has these 2 flavors.
I would love to have the bars available in Costco of California. I absolutely love these bars and would love for them to be easy to get. I am overseas right now, it would be awesome if they were available in France too!
We are going to Debut your bars in Superior Colorado and I will be helping your represenative there would like more information on your bars so i may be better prepared in assisting your rep have left my E-mail address with this comment. Thank You for your time Respectfully MaryAnn Pulu
Would be thrilled if your bars would be available at Costco Superior (Colorado) and Arvada! Loved the price at Today’s (6/11) promotion!
Bought your bars at the Costco in Superior, CO..but went back today and did not see any? Is Costco going to carry them? These bars are the best!!
P.S. – I grew up in Toledo, right next door to Sylvania, OH. Glad to see a local boy doing well!
Thank you for the kind words. We’re still waiting to hear back from Costco on their plan to pick us up in your area. You tried, and purchased (Thanks!) during a road show. Road shows allow companies to test their product within a Costco region, without a large financial commitment. Our sales over the 6 week road show were outstanding. Feel free to reach out to Costco and ask for the bars. Thanks again for your support. By the way, I am going back home from the 4th through the 11th of July. My brother has a cottage up in Michigan on Round Lake, near Devils and MIS Speedway. It’s a lot of fun.
I stopped by your sales table at a recent roadshow you held at the Mission Valley Costco in San Diego, CA. After just one sample I was sold. They are by far the best tasting protein bar I’ve eaten, and over the past 18 yrs I’ve tried many!
Low in fat (esp saturated), and high in protein. Great texture and taste. Great price. I opted for the Almond Crunch and it was delicious. It reminded me of eating Marzipan, my favorite indulgence!
I went back to Costco a few weeks later. This time I was going to stock up on 2-3 boxes. I looked in vain up and down the aisles and found nothing. Finally asked a salesperson who informed me the product had only been available during that road show. I was really disappointed, and no other product is worth my money. Fortunately I found your web site and can hopefully place an order here.
I posted in these comments previously, very excited that these bars were offered here at one of the Costco’s in Austin, TX.
Since that point I have been back regularly to buy more bars, and raved about them to a friend. We went there yesterday to buy bars for her–and they were gone.
When I asked a stocker about them, he looked up the code for me and told the code had been “deleted” which means that they no longer carry the product.

What happened???!
I love the purefit bars. The Costco in West Plano, TX does not seem to be carrying them anymore. Will they start to carry the bars again and if so when? My daughter wants a supply for College and is unable to find them.
I expected to get some feedback from customers upset about not being able to get the bars at Costco. I’ll do my best to explain. The PureFit bars available for sale in Texas were part of a great opportunity Costco gave us. It is called a “90 day rotation.” It was an extraordinary opportunity to work with Costco. We learned a lot. We’d do it again, but not if Costco wants to sell the bars for .99 cents.
Simply put, they want to sell nutrition bars for under $1.00. PureFit is a premium product, with a suggested retail of $1.99. You can shop around and find them for $1.50, but that is really as low as we like to see the product sold. We can’t support our existing bar, within the existing Costco system, if they require we sell them at .99 cents. Costco wants to sell our bars because they know they are better than the other brands. They can easily see the why our bars are better, and quite frankly, we pointed out all of the reasons are bars are more expensive than the bars they currently sell.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Costco customer. I enjoy shopping there as the prices are fantastic. The problem is Costco believes all nutrition bars should sell for .99 cents. That is ridiculous. I just bought a TV from them. Every 46” was a different price. Sony’s were more than Visio’s. The new Samsungs were more than last year’s Sony’s. Consumers are smart enough to do the research and make an educated decision. If I want to spend 50% more for a Samsung, which offers more features, that is my choice. That is exactly what I did. Why Costco believes consumers will only pay .99 cents for a nutrition bar is simply ridiculous.
I’m sorry you won’t be able to find PureFit at Costco anytime soon. We are sold in over 2500 stores across the US and Canada and most of the leading online stores that carry us offer exceptional pricing. Amazon even offers free shipping. GotBody.com has them at $22.50/box and of course, you can always order directly from us.
Robb,
After talking to your very friendly sales reps in Plano, TX and sampling a almond bar TX I purchased a box of bars and was hooked. I shop at Costco weekly but will be purchasing my box of bars a week elsewhere. It’s too bad you can’t come to some sort of middle ground on pricing with Costco. It’s far more convenient to buy at Costco then to make a special trip to a health food store.
